This time I'm going to tell you a well-known story...

I'm sure that many people have read or heard about the magnificent novel of Lev Nikolavic Tolstoy; War and Peace...

I will give you information about one of the side characters of that novel... It's a bit long but i hope you can read it...

Her name is Sonja... She is a young lady who lives with her aunt's family. She has two cousines; Natasha and Nikolaj... They are best friends and suddenly Sonja fell in love with Nikolaj. At the age of 16 Nikolaj promised Sonja to marry her. But his mother did not want this marriage to happen. She thought that marrying with a poor girl is completely useless and illogical... Then the great French-Russian War has started and Nikolaj decided to attend the army. When he was leaving he was sure that he will keep his word...

Nikolaj fought against the powerful army of Napoleon. Finally the war was over and he had the chance to go home. On the way home he rescued a princess from the villagers who would not let the princess to leave the village. The princess -sorry, i cannot remember her name- was not beautiful but her manner made a good impression on young Nikolaj...

The war took a very long time and when Nikolaj came back he saw that the financial situation of his family was a tragedy. Moreover he had doubts over his love with Sonja. But he was decisive to keep his word. He had some arguements with her mother... Noone on earth could dissuade him from his promise... except Sonja...

Poor Sonja was dreaming to marry Nikolaj. All that time that Nikolaj was away she had continuously thought about him. She had prayed several times to the God to bring him back... Her aunt -she call her as "mother"- treated her like a bug. Her "mom" thought that Sonja bind Nikolaj with his promise and if this little hitch won't dissappear, their future will be lost... Then she pressured Sonja to forgive Nikolaj from his promise.

Sonja thought that her mom has right. She was binding Nikolaj... She made a sacrifice. She decided to set him free to make his choice. She was sure that Nikolaj will choose her as his wife...

The truth was something different, Nikolaj did not love Sonja anymore. He liked the princess he rescued and want to marry her. This marriage would also improve the financial situation of the family. When Sonja set him free he exposed his feelings to Sonja.

Sonja a bit shocked but accepted her great love to marry someone else. Just because she loved him too much she made this second sacrifice. Besides her hopes of being Nikolaj's wife one day never ended.

Nikolaj married with the princess and have chldren... But what about Sonja... She continued living with the family of Nikolaj... She take care of Nikolaj's children... She did that just to feel Nikolaj's presence...

Why am i telling that story? 'cos i feel the same feelings with Sonja. Our stories are different but our destiny is the same. Now i truely understand that the one who make the sacrifice always loses...
